Jazz in the Pearl
A packed house enjoyed a captivating performance by the Dan Balmer Quartet in the first of a series of events in PDNA’s Store Front Activation Program. Some 60 people came together in this community event to enjoy music, food, drink and friendship.
In this challenging time for our city and neighborhood, PDNA’s goal is to help revitalize the Pearl by activating vacant store fronts to bring new energy to the neighborhood and to enhance the Pearl’s reputation as a center for arts and culture. Future programs will include more jazz concerts, other music performances, arts events and poetry readings.
Our thanks to Site Centers for donating the vacant former Umpqua Bank space at 12th and Lovejoy and to all the volunteers who helped make this kickoff event a rousing success. Additional thanks to a local jazz enthusiast who generously supported this effort.
