Pearl District Tree Lighting Ceremony: A Heartwarming Community Celebration
A Huge Thank You to our Community for Making this Event so Special!
The Pearl District Neighborhood Association would like to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who braved the cold to join us for our Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 5th—it was truly a magical evening with over 400 attendees!
The former Fjällräven store was transformed into a festive space where children could decorate cookies and drop off gifts for the KGW Annual Great Toy Drive. The event featured incredible performances by The Beat Goes On Marching Band and the Portland Interfaith Gospel Choir, creating a joyful atmosphere for all. Attendees also enjoyed delicious food from the Hapa Barkada food cart and warm hot cocoa from our free station.
A big thank you to Powell’s Books, Café Umbria, Blue Stone Real Estate Services, Hoyt Yard Streets, and all the local businesses, the Watermark at the Pearl, and Hoyt Street Yards for making this event possible. Special thanks to Below by Botanist for hosting the post-event gathering and Olive or Twist for their support.
We were also grateful for the security provided by Echelon and the fantastic participation from the Portland Police Bureau, who mingled with the crowd and handed out stickers to the kids. We had so much fun putting this together for our amazing community, and we can’t wait to do it again next year!
